Next door to Tathra Beach Family Park are a skate park and a playground. Within easy walking distance are shops, restaurants, cafes, tourist attractions and the bowling club. It’s just a short drive to the local hotel, golf club, sporting grounds and boat launching ramps.

Our central location provides an ideal opportunity to relax and indulge in the region's diverse and exotic pursuits including food, wine, arts and crafts. Explore the iconic natural beauty of the expansive national parks including famous Mimosa Rocks.

For the younger and more adventurous, Tathra has many lake, river and beach choices as well as an abundance of tours and organised activities including kayaking, whale watching and deep-sea fishing while nearby are two quality boat launching facilities providing access to both estuary and deep sea waters.

• Fishing & Boating

Tathra is a water lover's paradise. Surrounded by rivers, lakes and beaches there is an abundance of choice when it comes to water activities. From kayaking tours to charter deep sea fishing and sailing, if it involves fun on the water, you'll find it at Tathra.

• Scuba Diving

The Discover Scuba Diving program lets you experience the thrill of diving under the supervision of a PADI Professional in pool or pool-like conditions. During your adventure, you can master some basic concepts and scuba skills and head off to experience an open water adventure. You can choose to take part in all or part of the programme which includes: an instructional DVD, Pool Dive, and an Open Water Dive.

• Learn to Surf

Learn to surf in Tathra in a group class or a one-to-one lesson. You will be fitted into a full length wetsuit and provided with a soft foam Malibu surfboard. You’ll be catching waves to shore before you know it!

• Marine Kayaking Tour

Take a two hour guided tour of Merimbula’s marine environment on an ocean kayaks. If you keep your eyes open, you might even spot some of the local marine wildlife such as dolphins, seals, or whales (in season). Morning tea is included.

• Dolphin Cruise

Enjoy an all-year round adventure on-board "True Blue" or "Koo-ee" from Merimbula Marina. See dolphins, seals, marine and bird life.

• Whale Watching

If you have often wondered what it would be like to get close to whales and dolphins in their marine wonderland, then this is your big opportunity. In recent years the Sapphire Coast has become a major whale watching destination and Tathra Beach Family Park makes the ideal base from which to see these leviathans of the sea. The local watching season commences around mid September to end of November.

• Day Spa Beauty Packages

Treat yourself or someone you love to some beauty therapy at a day spa. There are four fantastic packages available; ‘Face & Feet’, 'Body, Face & Feet', 'Palms & Soles' and 'Body Spa & Face'. This is the ultimate relaxation experience.

• Kids Marine Aquatic Programme

This programme has been put together by the Merimbula Divers Lodge and offers your children a unique aquatic experience and marine conservation knowledge that will be with them for life. You can choose to take part in all or part of the programme which includes; Project Aware - marine conservation activities, snorkeling, and a marine aquatic day.

• Sinbad Cruise

Cruise the pristine waters of Pambula River and lake while enjoying an indoor or open air dining experience. Lunch, dinner and morning or afternoon tea available. Take a break and relax on 'Sinbad' as we take you on a cruise to explore the peaceful Pambula River. Passing historic aboriginal middens and stopping at Sever's Beach for a short walk. Marvel at the spectacular Ben Boyd National Park while listening to birds and viewing wildlife.

• Scenic Flights

Choose from one of the many flights available from Merimbula airport. Flights vary from a 10 minute flight over Merimbula to a half day Gabo Island tour.
