Whale Watching - Cooler Months

Seeing whales from shore is a part of everyday life around Tathra and the Sapphire Coast.

The bush telegraph quickly spreads the word through our coastal villages (in Eden it is amplified by a siren at the Eden Killer Whale Museum) and you will often see groups of walkers and passers-by spontaneously gathering at lookouts and beaches to enjoy the show.

Some sites require nothing more than you pulling up in your car, while others can take you on a three day walk through our unspoilt wilderness, and there’s everything in-between.

What to take? Water, a snack, your camera or binoculars, a smart device (Download the Wild About Whales App before you go so you can interpret behaviour and log sightings), and wear comfortable clothing, with a weatherproof layer on top.
