Golfing

The Sapphire Coast offers a smorgasbord of golf courses, some internationally acclaimed and each with its own unique style.

“They say golf is like life, but don’t believe them. Golf is more complicated than that.” ~ Gardner Dickinson. The most complicated thing about golf on the Sapphire Coast is deciding where to play!

You can share the 27-hole course at Pambula-Merimbula Golf Club with local wildlife or try to avoid hitting the centuries-old gum trees on the 18-hole course at Bega. Other 18-hole courses in the area include Eden Gardens, Bermagui and the glorious Tura Beach. Tura’s championship course has million-dollar ocean views and was designed by Australian golf legend and five-time British Open champion Peter Thomson, and his design partner, world renowned golf course architect Michael Wolveridge.

Tathra Beach was designed by another of Australia’s legendary players – Kel Nagle – and offers 12 holes and more great views. There are also nine-hole courses at Mandeni Gardens (north of Merimbula), Cobargo and Candelo.

Mini golf and golf tuition is also on offer, so there is literally something for everyone, whether you are a pint-sized player, just starting out, or have years of experience under your Niblicks.

All the clubs have a range of facilities and refreshments on offer, so play a round or two with friends and then sit back, relax and enjoy the views.
